As of today, Critical Security was hacked and defaced and left with a message on it's index page:
"uR 4dm1nZ have weak passw0rdszzz, supp0rt pr0j3kt-m4yh3mcat index.html@#@, x0x0x0x0x wuz h3r3"
CS (criticasecurity), is or was a long standing security website/forum that discussed various aspects of computer related security issues. CS was previously an adjoined project of Hack This Site and reasons for the hack have still not been made clear.
Within the last month, the activities of the anti-sec movement on hacker-based websites (blackhat-forums, astalavista, imageshack O_o) have contributed to asked questions as to who hacked CS and the motives behind it. Although, reference to project mayhem was made, time will only tell the motives behind the 'hack' and reasons (if any) why the site has been targeted.
Furthermore, the Forum has undergone recent upgrades, improving the aesthetics of the web page's template. However, due to these upgrades, bugs have been present and the site has been undergoing management. Whether or not this is related, is unknown, but Critical Security it seems, has some critical security issues of their own.
